La Maison d'Aneli, Virtual Holland

Noke Yuitza

There are six artists exhibiting at La Maison d’Aneli in Virtual Holland this month. The lights, colors and shapes in the dark room installation by Noke Yuitza are beautiful.

Vroum Short

Across from Yuitza’s installation is a gallery of animated pieces by Vroum Short, the creator of VeGeTaL PLaNeT. There are two levels, accessed via teleporter in the center of the floor. The biography is in French and English.

Sylvie Laville

Sylvie Laville is showing 9 pieces of RL needlework brought into SL.

mitou Waco

Downstairs, colorful, animated pieces by mitou Waco are exhibited on two levels. Flying is allowed at La Maison d’Aneli.

APRENDIX XARIS

The abstract works of APRENDIX XARIS is located in the gallery across from Waco’s. There is a notecarded statement with contact information.

Lampthaler

I kept the LM which was useful when I became disoriented in some of the installation rooms and didn’t easily find the exit. The theme here is “Everything flows”; photos do not show the beauty of the lights and movement. I really liked this installation.

There is a biography/statement in English. Lampthaler also has a LEA sim, Cloudshead Worldheart, which I have not seen.

Cafe D'Art, Horizons, virtual art collection

Located in Horizons Ariel, Cafe D’Art is a lovely coffee shop with an art collection in the sky accessed via teleporter.

A Pairs Game Table has been added since I took these photos. There are quite a few cats in the cafe as well as in the art collection gallery above.

Land description:  “The Queen of Ariel is proud to display the semi-famous art of her friends in this cafe and on the sky level. (Take TP). If you find the Queen, you can take a copy.”

This location has gone through several transformations, both in the sky and on the ground.

I really like the building. The cafe owner told me it had been a group gift years ago; it is by Pho Vanternatt and called “greenhouse skybox”.

Currently there is a glowey pink cube under the stairs shown in the right of the photo above which will take you to a bandcamp webpage for a newly released EP.

There is a dance machine located in the flower painted on the wall behind the counter.

Horizons Ariel is located in an A rated region.

Quentin, Sansara, Wanderlust Bench Art Park, Wanderlust Cafe

It began as a spontaneous whim on a 512 plot in Quentin, to have a space for a few avatars to show their current works since Wanderlust Project at the motel at Lollygaggers was closing. The land was claimed April 17 and the proposal for me to take care of the art space came soon after via IM. At that time I was way more likely to answer yes to suggestions than I am today.

Poppy art is in Quinn’s birdhouse, mostly digital art by Klaus Bereznyak plus a few pieces from his collection. (The portrait shaped hollyhocks picture in the center above is by me.)

In the loft space above are more poppy pictures from his collection, from left to right a photo by me, photo by Klaus and an acrylic on canvas pieces by Sisi Biedermann.

Two years ago there was a red lighthouse nearby, then none; now there is a lighthouse again. The art photo in the center, (not very well lit in this picture), is by Kimika Ying who has contributed pieces from her travels and some creations from her New Babbage workshop, Ying Industries, over the past two years.

Two days after Wanderlust Art Park quickly came into being, on April 19th, Saul Goodie purchased the larger parcel where Wanderlust Cafe is located along with gallery space indoors and out. There were numerous parcels for sale in the area after the large Poppyport group split up.

The suggestion for this March and April outdoor space was to display pieces loosely around the theme of moods of spring. In the photo above are 2D pieces by myself, Elle Thorkveld’s in the back/center and Lil Mint on the right.

The section of the wooden fence by the path from the cafe to the park holds destination posters to other art spaces on the grid and a current piece by Art Oluja.

Art by ChrysTeRox, serra Qendra, Wheedle, Klaus Bereznyak and Veyot.

Again from left to right, digital art by myself (Pearl Grey inworld), Lil Mint, screen by Lynette Trinity, digital art by Elle Thorkveld and collage by baker Bloch.

An RL photo of a recent snowfall by Adrianna Biziou is exhibited on the right. The digital art by Klaus leaning against the fence contains a timely philosophical quote on a notecard. A collection of previous pieces can be found on the back fence here.

Walking back to Wanderlust Cafe, you’ll see Seraphim’s portraits of Gynoids and also posters of galleries, events and exhibits.

The brightly colored flowers are by Tubal Amiot from private collections and the vase in the right of the photo is by Lynette Trinity.

Friday da 13th by Lil Mint, (the tall piece), has appeared in the last few days.

With more seating inside the Cafe and on the roof, this  is a pleasant place to linger for a while. The highly intrusive banlines from the Correctional Facility next door have been dialed back, thankfully. The piece shown in the upper center above is by serra Qendra.

The ground floor of the gallery holds 2D and 3D art by Giselle Seeker. One of the posters on the fence contains an easy teleport to her well-curated collection of art in Hughes.

And on the floor above are digital works by Lil Mint.

There are no plans for a celebratory gathering because….life; we’d love for you to visit. And we intend to have another exhibit for May and June.

For an amusing change I’ve visited Tralala’s Diner several times recently. I was persistent; I’ve had increasingly poor internet connectivity plus my laptop and graphics are not great.

The first time I visited only a few things rezzed. (This happens other places too.) What worked was to go when I had a good block of time and a friend to chat with while I waited for textures to load.

There is an amazing amount of detail.

And a Flickr group for your photos. You can IM Tralala Loordes, the sim creator, to rez things for picture taking.

Some of the homes are quite comfortable for a dystopian sim. Cats appear to have best survived the apocalypse but there are plenty of things for humans to have interesting lives.

Land description: “Post-Apocalyptic Living at It’s Finest – Hong Kong Rooftop Slums, Tokyo Piss Alley, Backwoods Road, Ruins, Outdoor Movie, Apocalypse, Asian, Photo Op Sim”

I find it worth the struggles my tech has to spend some time wandering around and snapping pictures.

CK Ballyhoo, Mer avatars, Seacree Reef

Open for a few weeks now, Seecree Reef is the latest installation by CK Ballyhoo.

Near the landing is a sign with teleports to a gallery and a shop; I followed the path and walked down the steps into the water.

Seacree Reef is an underwater world of 2D and 3D objects using only watercolor textures. There are a few dances and sits for Mer avatars.

There are friendly creatures swimming around in this peaceful place to explore.

There’s a turtle rezzer, breathing helmet and snorkeling gear which I haven’t tried yet; I floated, swam and snapped pictures.

The sim is in Storybrooke which is Adult rated.

The 2D art is in a series of galleries in rows; 3D pieces, both juried and non-juried, are in exhibition areas outdoors.

Amundsen Road, Jiminy, Scorze

The Linden Department of Public Works has heavy equipment and road cones out near the Rez Zone in Scorze. A new fuel station has gone in and changes were needed for an entrance and exit.

The 1536 sq m parcel is called SHiNYbrand FOB “Hot Cocoa“, the brand is Lycan Oil and the owner is connected to the GTFO (Get The Freight Out) stations that have been appearing all over the mainland during the last year.

GTFO is a cargo transport game.

There is no indication when the construction will be completed. The rez zone has been an active location for as long as I’ve been interested in the area.

This area, as well as others on the mainland, has been showing signs of revitalization. There are two new airports nearby, one in Bretton and one in Minarlo Vite.
