At Split Screen Installation Space through the end of April is Bleeding Books by Haveit Neox.

“‘Bleeding Books’ begins in the sky, and drops to the large fortress at ground level. It is a story in my ongoing series on abuse as seen through the lens of language.”

“What happens when knowledge is so disrespected that it is freely contaminated with doses of falsehood?”

“There are avenues to properly sort facts in this information age, yet we easily turn a blind eye to certain evidence if it goes counter to our beliefs – even when our choices may cause immeasurable harm.”

“In the exhibit, the texts of books bleed falling letters of the alphabet, for they can no longer contain any structure of value.” — Haveit Neox

Bleeding Books opened on March 4th.

The first public exhibit of Cafe Sophistry artworks will be available for viewing through Sunday, April 2nd.

Dystopian Daydreams explores this theme: “The mind always tells itself stories, even in the darkest situations. VR audiences flock to dystopian worlds;  is occupying apocalyptic aftermaths an act of coping, or cleansing and innocence? Do creators enjoy “exploiting decay” for its dynamic beauty?”

On February 12, a workshop was led by Lex Perdide with the assistance of RMarie Beedit during which a discussion took place at The Monkey Temple followed by field trips. You can read about it here. Resource links are provided in the transcript.

A month later, on March 12, the group met again to share and discuss creations inspired by the workshop. The log, links to resources and more in-depth views of the creations can be found here.

Cafe Sophistry began approximately two years ago and workshops have been held several times a year. Art pieces and builds are encouraged but not required for attendance. More information is available on the About page at the Cafe Sophistry blog maintained by Lex Perdide. Lex and RMarie Beedit are contact avatars.

Again, the exhibit is open to the public through April 2nd.

The graphic narrative exhibit, With the Living, will continue on past the original closing date.

Written by Klaus Bereznyak and illustrated by myself, (SL photos edited in software), the story is based loosely on a soldier returning from the Crimea.

There was an opening event and we were very pleased that the work viewed with interest and discussed with intelligent questions asked.

Most of the photos were taken at Binemust, which has a wonderful variety of scenes that worked for this narrative.

It was an enjoyable collaboration and learning experience. Klaus made a book out of it and I filmed a slideshow. There are gifts available at the exhibit.

With the Living might best be viewed on night setting.

Now open through April, Art by Saul is an exhibit of graphic art by Saul Goodie.

“NOTE: The artwork is displayed in no order other than arbitrary complementing, not in Chronological order. In addition, the pieces are un-marked, as I felt having the numbers displayed brought nothing to the experience.
Please enjoy the Art!

-Saul Goodie”

There is a teleporter connecting the exhibit with Wanderlust Cafe below where more of Saul’s art is shown.

Just opened March first, works of five artists are exhibited on two floors at La Maison d’Aneli, Virtual Holland.  The photo above shows a view of the top floor.

When you land at the Cafe, you’ll find all the seats taken by characters such as the ones above but you can dance. Displayed on the walls of this room are works by Aloisio Congrejo.  art_003

You can teleport in and out of the art.

Walking into the next room, you’ll see art by Tubal Amiot, shown above, and a large installation by Giovanna Cerise. Walking to the back wall, turn around and you’ll find the previously invisible stairs leading to the second floor

The paintings by Tubal Amiot are a great find for art collectors, being excellent pieces plus very affordable. At Mod, no copy, Transfer they also make great gifts. I can see them as a focal point in a room by people who love to decorate and don’t especially want to have a lot of art around. art_002

Art by Patrick Moya is upstairs.

Bright and animated pieces by Chapichapo Delvalle are also very affordably priced. A ramp leads to a better view of pictures on the upper level.

I noticed that I had little trouble with my graphics here which was surprising since I was finding much of Second Life crashy with very slow rezzing just earlier. These photos are cropped and otherwise raw. Your eyes would need a rest at some point but the graphics might not be as challenging as one would think.

Thanks to friend and blogger. Veyot, for showing me this exhibit
