Bodega Harbor_004The buildings and gardens of Bodega Harbor, just off Noyo Road in Bodega, could be easily missed because they’re so high up on steep ridges. Instead of being someone’s private paradise, the public is welcome. I learned this while looking at an interesting roadside place next to the harbor. Bodega Harbor_001Indeed there are several interesting neighboring places to explore, most in the older mainland style, except for the aviation place across the road.Bodega Harbor_002I like the feeling of being high up, the painted walls and the collections scattered about. There’s lots of climbing, on stairs and sheer terrain; fortunately flying is allowed.Bodega Harbor_006From the land description: “Old Nautilan outpost and crystal lighthouse” It also gives windlight settings which aren’t reflected in these photos.Bodega Harbor_008Bodega Harbor is owned by a private group, Kahruvel Restoration and Research: “Dedicated to restoring the Kahruvel lands and researching the Great Erase and history of Urtahrah. All archeologists, botanists, zoologists, geologists, linguists, historians and other interested persons are welcome!”Bodega Harbor_014Two large crystal clusters flank the entrance to the harbor.Bodega Harbor_011I flew to the top of the crystal lighthouse instead of climbing the stairs. Bodega Harbor_013Bodega Harbor is on the continent of Sansara.

Kitty's Love Shack, St John, The Dapper Cat, The Factory

St John's_006On occasion I’ll make time to go clubbing and two of the most memorable times of late have been in St John. Kitty’s Love Shack in Bayou St John has wonderful ambiance and amazing detail. The music stream is awesome. I’m listening to blues and swing as I type this.  Kitty_004The best viewing is on night setting as shown in the picture above. I find Kitty to be delightful in his unique way. He agreed to wipe down the bar for a photo. St John's_009The place is open 24/7: you seat yourself. Again, the details are amazing.  The group for Kitty’s is called The Dapper Cat which is also the name of his gacha resale shop, always worth checking out. I enjoy wearing “Cat Lady” over my head when I’m running about.St John's_008Above is a view from the back of Kitty’s. St John is a fictional 1916 era New Orleans sim.Zoe_004It’s a great place to hang out alone, with a friend or to party. St John's_001More recently opened in Uptown St John is The Factory.  “Public club on era sim circa 1915 reminiscent of New Orleans featuring Vintage Jazz, Electroswing, Steampunk, Swing music and more. Events, dancing and lounge; also open 24/7 for your personal enjoyment”. St John's_002The steampunk elevator will take you to the upper floor where there’s another bar and seating with views of the water and city. Imon, the owner and Dj has an enjoyable place to hang out here.the factory_008Some people enjoy dressing of the era.

Nusquam, Second Life

Nusquam_003Recently I took my camera to Nusquam, choosing a time I thought would be less crowded.

I’ve been aware of it as a popular destination out on the periphery of a group of new places I haven’t had time to explore. It seemed familiar, reminding me of where I grew up and many places I’ve been, except for the lighthouse and boats. Nusquam_001I’m an intrepid explorer for sure and much of the criteria for places I choose to share has to do with the feels. I come across many places, people, themes and ideas I don’t resonate with at all. Don’t we all read and hear too much naysaying, criticism, strong opinions and snarky attacks though?

When it comes time to blog, I consider my energy level at the time, my current needs and whether my virtual experience seems to have a pulse, whether there’s a good vibe coming back or not. Sometimes it’s about calling attention to something deserving to be documented or something fleeting that others might like to experience. Sometimes I just want to take a few snaps, tuning out the expectations of others.Nusquam_005Nusquam has a nostalgic feel for me. The reality is that I fled these sort of places, the humidity, snakes, plant pollens, extreme weather conditions, and plethora of insects to be closer to book stores, museums and galleries, ethnic food and theaters. Nusquam_006There was a time when things were cluttered in a more organic way; if something was moved, someone would notice. Objects were made use of, there was less mindless hoarding, fewer plastic disposable items. Nusquam_007I wonder how our nervous systems would handle being thrust into an environment like this now. Many of us crave vacations and then don’t know what to do with ourselves when we get potentially unscheduled time.

Some of us keep tuning into the relentless, bombarding information from others and then notice we’re still feeling invisible and unheard.

As life continues to ramp up there are choices to be made, noticing whether or not there’s a response, a healthy vibrancy, an awareness, an interaction, something worthy of continued attention.  Nusquam_008Nusquam fits my mood of late.

Of course this destination would have a different effect on others. Diversity is healthy and crucial to the survival of life on this planet. Not all of us want to be in this constantly broadcasting, rarely listening, hive mind circus.
