Kultivate’s Black and White Exhibition opened August 27 and will continue through September 3rd. It features black and white imagery from about 40 artists. The photo above shows 2D pieces by Elle Thorkveld.

Like Elle, Jaime Poutine often works with vibrant colors. I found these black and white images quite interesting, looking better inworld than in my photo here.

For a complete list of artists and a schedule of events check the Kultivate blog post.

There’s also 3D works. The piece above is by Eleseren Brianna.  I like the way the trees frame the galleries in the background.

A Yin Yang Hunt has been mentioned but during my visit I didn’t notice one symbol.

Some of the pieces by Myra Wildmist are shown in the photo above.

A few of the exhibitors are showing drawings. I especially like the ones by Sheba Blitz, shown above.

Photographs by Hana Hoobino.

The second annual Spring Art Show by Kultivate Magazine opens on Monday April third and runs through Sunday April ninth.  The show features a celebration of 2D and 3D artists with over 50 of them participating. The photo above shows a view from Bryn Oh’s installation, which is to the right after crossing the bridge from the landing.

To the left after the landing, is the beautiful Blue Garden by Alpha Auer; the photo was taken inside it.

The event will feature both a juried and non juried component. Juried participants are competing to win a shared prize pot, gift cards, and more.

There is a Palette Hunt during the week long celebration offering gifts from many of the artists. The palettes can be found in some of the galleries as well as scattered around the area. Shown above is a glimpse inside the 2D Art Exhibition Gallery.

There is also an Art Quest Part 2 Hunt; obtain a HUD, follow clues and win prizes.

The Spring Into Art Photo Contest begins Monday as well. For more information and schedules for the variety of live performers, tribute bands, DJ parties and the two special hunts, check the Kultivate Magazine website.

Shown above is a glimpse of the 2D RL exhibit which includes digital art.

Several of the 3D installations are best viewed on Night and ALM settings.

This year’s event will also feature a new series, “Art Talks,” with informational sessions on a variety of topics including Second Life Photography Tips, Copyright and Creative Commons and Beginner and Intermediate Photography Class.

The last two photos shown in this post were taken in the non juried 2D Exhibition Gallery.

Throughout the Spring 17 Art show, you’ll find much of the art available for purchase.

The SLurls in this post are for the Kultivate Spring 17 Art Show landing point. For specific SLurls for the exhibition galleries and classroom see the Kultivate Magazine website.

Lists of the participating artists and of sponsors are also on the website.

baroque-dreams_008Baroque Dreams, a 3D art installation by Haveit Neox can be accessed until the end of this month.baroque-dreams_007

It’s lovely art and was also a fashion runway with audience seating for an artistic fashion show featuring designs by Lyrical Bizarre.

There are at least two videos of the event, one by Haveit Neox on vimeo, (7:34) and the other by Zarrakan Productions on YouTube (11:16). Haveit’s machinima is of the fashion show; Zarrakan Productions explores the build at Water Haven and zooms in on the fashion posters displayed on the wall.baroque-dreams_004

The fashion show event was part of a month long celebration of the one year anniversary of The Edge, the fashion division of Kultivate Magazine.

I’d like to see this art piece find a permanent home.

Other 3D art builds by Haveit Neox can be seen at ACC Alpha and The Centaurs’ Hall at Verdigris; the builds for Fantasy Faire are ephemeral.
