BayCityFashion_003The Bay City Fashion Week event will continue through the 29th and I found it to be a great resource for me. Most of the shops I’d never heard of and I’ve searched the marketplace looking for Vintage clothes.

BayCityFashion_001I picked up landmarks, demos and a few free gifts. There are women’s clothes, hats and jewelry. Volstead also has a lawyer’s suit for men.

BayCityFashionWeek_003There are about 15 booths and it doesn’t take much time to pick up landmarks and demos for further exploration. It’s put together to look like an upscale fashion show from somewhere between 1945–1965. There are nice areas to sit down to eat pastries or do whatever. There’s also a vintage runway for those who’d like to take modeling photos.

Mayfair, I’ve just learned was the first whole mesh sim. It’s the home of Celoe and {mon tissu} and came to my attention when I saw some retro jeans on a shopping blog and wanted them for an event on Saturday the 20th. I couldn’t find them in the Marketplace so went inworld to look, setting aside other things I should have been doing. Mayfair_002

I didn’t find the jeans–I found some in my inventory from Izzie’s that are fine–but I had a pleasant time exploring. Lately I’m really liking white walls; Celoe has dressing rooms upstairs which I found charming. Mayfair_003

{mon tissue} also has a lovely dressing and waiting area; I like the decor.Mayfair_004There is a garden area behind {mon tissu} as well as outdoor cafe seating near a bakery. It was a pleasant little break for me.

Photos taken at Onigashima. This is how I’ve felt for almost a week, like I’m standing out in the open in a magical field, gazing off into the distance, feeling no pressure and pleased to be alive.

Maybe I have spring fever; I suspect part of it is from last week’s full moon. I’ve been adjusting to my latest superpower downloads and I’m ready to tend my blog again.

Onigashima_002

Onigashima is a Japanese themed sim and has shops among many interesting little spots to explore. I went to visit after noticing a blog post about it and while there I discovered that they recently had a photo contest. Somewhere on Flickr I’m sure there are wonderful pictures. As usual, I’ve done no editing on these.   Onigashima_001 I really looked everywhere here, walking up and down hills like a mountain goat although there are many stone steps and also bridges to get around. There was a shop higher up that was under construction and I’d like to go back when it’s finished. Onigashima_003I couldn’t help but purchase a kimono. I’m not sure where I’ll use it but I’ve tried it on. The sim is unique and enjoyable even if you aren’t interested in shopping.
