Opening today at Noula, Fade Away is a monochrome installation by Cica Ghost.
Some of the figures, do indeed, appear and then fade away.
The ticking of clocks can be heard as you explore the installation.
”Some people seem to fade away but then when they are truly gone, it’s like they didn’t fade away at all.”
Bob Dylan
I enjoyed my initial visit and will return.
The photos here are cropped and otherwise raw. I don’t derender and considering all the avatars on the sim, I’m pleased with getting some photos I like.
What a fascinating build, I will visit soon! The concept is interesting and well suited to monochrome.
Indeed! Enjoy your visit.
What do you mean when you say you ‘don’t derender’?
On the Firestorm viewer, and maybe some others, there’s a way you can click on avatars and objects to make them disappear. Many SL photographers use this. When I’m snapping pics, anything showing up in my viewer and the way it shows up, is what goes into my photo. I think on the Lab viewer, “block” might be the way this happens. By not derendering, and as a blogger, I’m in a very small minority it seems.
There’s nothing in my life or SL time that I want to give up to spend more time on virtual photo taking or post-processing than I already am.
There were lots of avatars at Fade Away, plus some of the objects in the background weren’t showing up well. I found it remarkable that my snaps were easily taken in what is usually a challenging circumstance. 🙂
I didn’t know that… crowds are never a problem for Seri and I when taking pictures, as we don’t do crowds (:
