gazebo and mansion at Pillars of Mist

Long time readers of this blog might recall that sometimes I go into opensim. I used to have accounts at Lost Paradise and Island Oasis. Like most, I’m quite busy and things just fall away. I still like to explore though, especially when I need a break from the busyness in SL.

For the past few months I’ve been in opensim more often. Usually it’s in Dankoville, which is a region connected to Nara’s Nook. Or in a region in OSGrid where I keep intending to learn to build but am actually kind of not quite getting around to it.

Hypergridding is something I can’t explain how to do. I have short-term memory problems and don’t recall how I successfully did it before. So I just attempt several jumps and eventually one usually works.pom_017Recently I successfully traveled  from OSGrid to Pillars of Mist, a new grid that is still under construction. It’s well underway though; you can get a sense of what it’s becoming and visitors are welcome.pom_018

Today’s photo’s are of the mansion. There’s also a town which has residences, businesses and everything else you’d find in a town. The website mentions mystery events, roleplay friendly, dance parties, treasure hunts for prizes and building contests.

What I like about the website and the inworld landing is that it appears to be very newcomer friendly. There’s info there for those familiar with opensim too.

People who know about opensim sound like this is a newer approach, as is Nara’s Nook which is a writers colony. (I’ve visited there too.)

My virtual projects are piling up and I always like to visit and photograph Fantasy Faire, which begins today.

But I want to post the pictures I took of the town in Pillars of Mist soon as well as other places I visit. Most of the residents in opensim seem to be always working on things and there’s less blogging and sharing photographs than in SL as far as I’ve seen.

We’ll see how this goes.
